About Us

Hey there! We're Laura and Heidi, two backend developers from a small Austrian company called Numero33 (N33 for short) who somehow ended up creating SCRNIFY.

How It Started

Picture this: It's December 2023, and we're at N33's annual Christmas hackathon. Maybe it was the holiday spirit, or perhaps we were just trying to avoid writing proper documentation, but we thought: "Hey, let's build a screenshot tool!"

Laura, who joined N33 first, is the "quick and dirty" coder - get it done, make it work, worry about the details later. Heidi, who came about 10 months later, is more the "let's overcomplicate everything because we can" type (those university computer science classes really left their mark). Somehow, this odd couple of coding styles just works.

The Name

SCRNIFY's name came from a late-night brainstorming session involving ChatGPT and, well, let's say some adult beverages. We'd love to tell you there's a deep meaning behind it, but honestly? It was just the first domain name that was available. Sometimes the simple answers are the best ones.

What Makes Us Different

Here's the thing - we're not going to claim we reinvented the wheel. The screenshot tool wheel has been invented many times before. But we did want to make something that's fair and transparent, hence our pay-what-you-use approach.

Beyond The Code

While we spend our days wrestling with backend code at N33, we're not just colleagues who happen to work together. When we're not debugging or deploying, you might find us carving up the Austrian Alps on skis or hanging out by one of our beautiful lakes.

The Truth

We're just two backend developers who decided to venture into the full stack world (pray for us). We're learning as we go, making mistakes, fixing them, and hopefully creating something useful along the way.
